ABOUT ME

I always wanted to be an actress, beginning training at The Avon Academy, Nottingham at the age of 7. Having spent 11 years there, I was lucky enough to get the Arts Council Theatre student position at Nottingham Playhouse when I was 18. I had taken O and A levels, so some academic back up was gained, but I was never going to give up my dreams…or so I thought. Love and children did interfere for a few years, (very happily I might add) but, having been widowed in 2013, I decided to risk it all again to return to acting.

I am fiercely independent, strong but adaptable and I have enjoyed discovering myself as an actress anew. The business has changed almost beyond recognition, but I have been lucky enough to work in some varied and interesting projects, both on film and stage. I am open to all new opportunities, but only paid now, being a member of Equity…not that I demand Equity rates, just some pay.

I love being an actress, and all aspects interest me although voice work is a particular passion. I also love teaching and am available to teach Speech and Drama using the New Era Academy syllabuses or coach for voice and auditions
